That said, I LOVE the art on him and the heads. If he shows up, he shows up, and you better hope you have the right comp to deal with him.

The problem is, unlike the Shambler, you can't readily plan to avoid him. Much like the Shambler, he feels like a mission wrecker if you haven't planned for him. There was also a fair bit of luck involved in terms of stuns landing and dodges and so forth. I just happened to have crews that could handle him tolerably. My impression of the Collector (despite my success) is that I got lucky with my team comps. In some ways they had a harder time with the Collector - it took longer to take him out, so he got off a summons and pretty nasty Life Steal, but when they were done they were still in good enough shape to go after the Prophet (successfully, barring one Affliction). This was a double Lunging Crusader build, spec'd for Damage (not my usual strat, but I wanted to see how exploiting unholy damage buffs would work out). We ran into a Madman and two Bone Commanders before we hit the Collector just before the Prophet. The second was a team going after the Veteran Prophet. It pretty much wrecked our stress levels with both Abom's in Beast Mode, but we got out ok. Fortunately it was the last encounter in the dungeon. I invoked that backup plan when the Collector showed up. But I definitely had to go all in - I had been running one Abom in human mode for stuns with his beast mode as a backup plan. He basically got one action - summoned a crew - before the team finished him off. I got a stun off on him first round before he could act, and the Abom's just started pounding him. Ran into the Collector twice last night, back-to-back missions.įirst was an apprentice run with two level 0 abominations.
